Previously known as “fancy diving”, Springboard and Platform Diving has evolved over the years to become the competitive and entertaining sport that we now know.

It was introduced to the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louise and has been a regulary watched, and enjoyed event at each Olympic Games since. The Olympic Games caters for all Men’s and Women’s events except the 1 metre springboard competition.

Diving in New Zealand is a small, but growing sport and has a had a number of representatives at the Commonwealth and Olympic Games in previous years. Gabe Armstrong-Scott from Wellington has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
